This is me… In July, working out with 30K+ of my closest friends… 😉

Guess what? I’m still here… Making positive changes one day at a time and addressing my struggles as they come up, while helping others do the same. Our support community focuses on developing lifelong habits and staying healthy so we can lead the lives we choose and pursue our passions. Being healthy is possible and it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy life. Making good choices doesn’t have to be complex and time consuming and neither does fitness.

Life is all about balance. If you’re ready to take a leap of faith, I’m ready to lead the way and show you what you need to do to be your best. Think you’re ready for 30 minute workouts and more food than you’ve ever eaten on a “diet” before? Seriously, though, I promise you’re not going to starve! Pay the Farmer to Keep You Healthy

I WAS one of those people who ate with very little thought to whether I was feeding my body nutritious food. I was reactive when it came to health issues. I was suffering from migraines and joint pain and arthritis from past injury.

All that changed when I recommitted to meeting my running goals, added in cross-training with Beachbody programs, and began drinking Shakeology.

Yes, I’m a busy mom, but I’m not going to use that as an excuse not to take care of myself. If anything, that’s even more reason to be proactive in keeping our family healthy. I couldn’t possibly ingest all the superfoods I get in Shakeology… So, it supplements the clean healthy fruits and vegetables my body needs and gives my body a protein boost and energy and cuts cravings at the same time. That’s a win/win for me. So you could ask yourself why *should* I be interested in or concerned about getting healthy, but the real question is why not?

Being a Beachbody Coach…

I’ve been a stay at home mom to this miraculous little boy for 21 months tomorrow. Sometimes it seems like barely a day has gone by. I wouldn’t trade our time together for anything, but I remember that first year being so absorbed in him and our family that I lost who I was as a person and really didn’t take the best care of myself.

8 months ago, I committed to running the Pittsburgh Half Marathon, and 7 months ago, I became a Beachbody coach. If I had known then what I knew now, I would have sought out the opportunity sooner. I suddenly found myself surrounded with a family of people who supported and uplifted and cheered each other on. I was running toward health and fitness and business goals.

Today was a huge milestone when our family earned our biggest Beachbody paycheck to date. I’m still amazed every day that I get paid to share my experiences and help other people on their fitness journey.

My E&E and R&R experience…

I know I haven’t posted a lot on this page about my journey with Beachbody so far even though I’m quite vocal on Facebook.  I experienced something last night that made me REALLY want to share about the products like never before.  Bear in mind…  This is my honest and unbiased opinion…

So last night, we returned from our weekend visiting in WV.  I still had my 4 mile run to do to keep on track with the half marathon training program.  I had ordered the Energy & Endurance Formula and Results and Recovery Formula because I knew I wanted to give them a shot.  I’m a big believer in trying something before I make up my mind…

First up was trying the Energy & Endurance.  I made it according to the instructions on the package, and I waited about 20 minutes before getting on the treadmill.  Why did I wait?  Well for one I thought I was going to throw up!  Probably not literally, but the flavor was supposed to be lemon-lime, yet it was SO sickeningly sweet at the same time.  NOT my cup of tea at all.  I wasn’t sure how I would like it sloshing around in my belly while I ran, but I went for it.

So, history…  I’ve been training and felt like I was pushing pretty good at a 13:34 pace on average.  (I never said I was fast, folks!)  Now, I get on the treadmill and warm up for a few minutes and start to run…  I realize this feels different.  It feels easier.  I feel less tense and like I”m breathing better.  My feet are also hitting the cover at the front of the deck, so I up the speed…  A few minutes later I up the speed again.  I find a comfortable pace, and I finish at 12:24/mile average.  Can I tell you that I was like what the H-E-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS was that?!?  I was shocked, but I felt like I could still run more surprisingly…  How did a 4 mile pace beat my regular 3 mile pace???

I stretch and cool down and mix up my Results and Recovery Formula.  It claims to reduce soreness, replenish nutrients, and restore energy…  First, from the first drink this was A LOT better.  Remember Tang as a kid?  This is totally that flavor wise.  I can honestly say that I didn’t mind the taste at all and actually enjoyed it and found it refreshing.  I still felt good from my run, but I wondered how I would feel in the morning…

So the verdict is in…  I feel great today.  I’m not sore, I’m not sluggish, I’m not tired…  I burned around 600 calories during this run if the treadmill and my fitbit are to be believed.  I had the treadmill set for a specific terrain so it adjusted and gave me higher incline when the route dictated it.  The incline didn’t slow me down for once!!  I just kept pushing and realized I could do it.

I’m absolutely going to do it again next weekend on my long run day and would recommend it to others.  In my opinion, the payoff was worth 8 oz of something I REALLY don’t like to drink.
